About me
I'm a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I specialise in supporting parents in the perinatal period, from support before birth through to support after birth and early parenthood. The perinatal period is one of the most transformative periods of a person's life, yet it can feel difficult, isolating and overwhelming. You may be navigating through low mood or anxiety, or you may feel like you have lost your identity and miss your old self. You may feel pressure to outwardly show that the parenthood experience is rosy or delightful, whereas internally feeling that the process is very different.
I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and be truly heard. My aim is to help you make sense of your experiences, develop a deeper understanding of yourself, and begin to feel more confident and grounded in your role as a parent.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to suit you as an individual. I won't tell you what to do, but I will work alongside you, helping you explore your thoughts and feelings, gently reframe perspectives where helpful, and support you in finding a way forward that feels right for you.
I have several years of experience working within a perinatal charity and in a GP surgery setting, supporting clients with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. I am known for being approachable, empathetic, and someone people feel able to connect with quickly.
I am particularly passionate about
Supporting parents navigating identity changes
Helping clients feel "normal" in what can often feel like an abnormal experience
Reducing feelings of shame, stigma, and isolation
Providing support that goes beyond a purely medical model, offering space for reflection, understanding, and emotional growth
Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply in need of a space to talk, I am here to support you.
