About the service
Parent Perspective is a perinatal counselling service based in Epworth, South Yorkshire, run by a qualified counsellor and member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Sessions are held online via a secure video link.
By booking a session or using this website, you agree to these terms. If anything here is unclear, please ask before booking - email enquiries@parentperspective.co.uk or call 07890 567 657.
This is not an emergency service
Counselling is not a substitute for urgent or crisis care. If you are in a mental health emergency, or you feel you may harm yourself or someone else, please seek help straight away:
- Call 999 if there is immediate danger to life
- Call NHS 111 for urgent medical or mental health advice
- Call the Samaritans on 116 123, free, any time, day or night
Emails and messages sent through this website are not monitored around the clock, so please do not use them to seek urgent help.
Booking and payment
- Sessions cost £55 per session.
- Blocks of 6 sessions are available at a discounted rate.
- All sessions are payable in advance of the session taking place.
Your session is confirmed once payment has been received. Details of how to pay will be provided when you book.
Cancellations and rescheduling
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, please give at least 48 hours' notice [to be confirmed]. With this notice, your session can be rescheduled or refunded. Sessions cancelled with less notice, or missed without notice, may be charged in full, as the time has been reserved for you.
If your counsellor ever needs to cancel a session, you will be offered an alternative time or a full refund for that session.
Confidentiality and its limits
Everything discussed in counselling is confidential and is handled in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. There are, however, a small number of situations where confidentiality may lawfully or ethically need to be broken:
- where there is a risk of serious harm to you or to another person
- where there is a safeguarding concern involving a child or a vulnerable adult
- where disclosure is required by a court order or by law
Wherever possible, any need to share information would be discussed with you first. Confidentiality is also explained in full at the start of counselling.
Your responsibilities as a client
- Please attend online sessions from a private, quiet space where you can speak freely, with a reliable internet connection where possible.
- Please attend sessions free from the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs.
- Please give accurate contact information and let us know if it changes.
- Sessions must not be recorded without agreement from both parties.
