Cookie Policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies used on parentperspective.co.uk, what each one is for, and how you can change your choice at any time. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal information is handled more generally.

Your choice

When you first visit, a banner asks whether analytics cookies may be used. Accepting and rejecting are equally easy, and nothing on this website is withheld if you decline. If you would like to change your answer later, use the cookie button in the bottom left corner of any page.

Your answer is stored in your browser's local storage under the name pp_consent_v1. This is not a cookie and it is not sent to us. It exists only so the banner does not ask you the same question on every page.

Essential

No cookies are required for this website to work. WordPress, which this site is built on, may set a cookie if you leave a comment or log in to an account, but neither applies to ordinary visitors.

Analytics, only if you accept

If you accept, Google Analytics is used to understand how people find and use the website, so it can be improved. It sets the following cookies:

  • _ga, which lasts up to two years and distinguishes one browser from another
  • _ga_MRY02NDEXK, which lasts up to two years and keeps track of a single visit

Google Analytics is used to count visits, see which pages are read, and record when someone contacts the practice, for example by clicking a phone number, a WhatsApp link or the booking calendar. It is not used for advertising, and no advertising or remarketing tags are present on this website.

Something we think you should know

Google's analytics script is requested by your browser on every page of this website, before you have answered the banner. That request alone tells Google your IP address and which page you are on. It would be easy to say that Google Analytics is only loaded if you accept, but that would not be accurate, so we would rather tell you plainly.

What your answer controls is what that script is permitted to do. Until you accept, it runs in a restricted state: it sets no cookies, stores no identifier, and sends only basic signals that cannot be tied back to you. If you accept, the two cookies above are set and your visit is recorded. If you decline, that restricted state simply continues.

Where Google Analytics is used with your consent, Google acts as a separate data controller for the information it receives. Google's own practices are described in its privacy policy.

What is not used

This website carries no advertising cookies, no remarketing or conversion pixels from social networks, no embedded videos, no maps and no social media feeds. Nothing on the site loads content from another company that could set its own cookies as you browse.

Turning cookies off in your browser

Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies for an individual website, in its settings under Privacy. Doing so will not stop this website working. If you clear your browser's storage you will also clear your saved answer, and the banner will ask again on your next visit.
